Description
Log in to translateHere’s the crazy story behind it:Back in the 2007-08 season (Spurs' 125th anniversary), Tottenham signed a special deal to wear Chinese/Mandarin "Mansion" sponsor logos for their UEFA Cup matches to tap into the Asian market. Before that rollout, Puma’s factory in Turkey printed a handful of initial production samples/prototypes using the player-spec templates but with the standard English Mansion logo layout. Once the final decision was locked in to use the Mandarin sponsor on pitch, Puma headquarters reportedly issued a destruction order to slash and destroy these initial test samples.Somehow, this specific shirt was saved from the factory floor before the blades hit it. To get it out without leaving a trace in the inventory, the wash tags were cleanly cut from the inside, which is why they are missing. Since it's the only known survivor from that scrapped batch, this shirt is reportedly a 1-of-1 piece in the entire world.

How to check this shirt before you buy
Authenticity claims and evidence are provided by the seller. Shirt Circle does not authenticate items. It is worth taking a few minutes over a listing before you buy.
No single check, document, or combination of evidence proves that a shirt is authentic. These questions are here to help you look closely and decide for yourself.
- Price
- If a deal seems too good to be true, take extra care. Ask questions and review the available evidence before buying.
- Consistency
- Where relevant, the player, team, season, competition and match details should agree with each other, with the photos, and with any evidence the seller provides.
- Photos
- Ask for close photos of the details that matter to you, such as the nameset, the patches, the wash tag or a signature, where the shirt has them. Message the seller and ask them to add the photos to the listing, so you can see them full size.
- Evidence
- A certificate or other seller evidence does not prove authenticity by itself. Ask who issued it, what it is based on, and how it connects to this particular shirt.
- Signatures
- If the shirt is signed, ask where and when it was signed and who was there. An unclear origin is worth asking about.
- Provenance
- Ask how the seller came by the shirt and what they can show for it. Little or no history is not proof of anything either way, but it is worth knowing before you buy.
- The seller
- Ask anything that is unclear before you buy. A seller who will not answer reasonable questions is a good reason to stop.
Still unsure? Message the seller, or report a concern about this listing.
