Buying safely on Shirt Circle

Authenticity claims and evidence are provided by the seller. Shirt Circle does not authenticate items. It is worth taking a few minutes over a listing before you buy.

No single check, document, or combination of evidence proves that a shirt is authentic. These questions are here to help you look closely and decide for yourself.

How to check this shirt before you buy

Price
If a deal seems too good to be true, take extra care. Ask questions and review the available evidence before buying.
Consistency
Where relevant, the player, team, season, competition and match details should agree with each other, with the photos, and with any evidence the seller provides.
Photos
Ask for close photos of the details that matter to you, such as the nameset, the patches, the wash tag or a signature, where the shirt has them. Message the seller and ask them to add the photos to the listing, so you can see them full size.
Evidence
A certificate or other seller evidence does not prove authenticity by itself. Ask who issued it, what it is based on, and how it connects to this particular shirt.
Signatures
If the shirt is signed, ask where and when it was signed and who was there. An unclear origin is worth asking about.
Provenance
Ask how the seller came by the shirt and what they can show for it. Little or no history is not proof of anything either way, but it is worth knowing before you buy.
The seller
Ask anything that is unclear before you buy. A seller who will not answer reasonable questions is a good reason to stop.

If something looks wrong

Every listing has a “Report a concern” link. Use it if you believe an item is counterfeit, if an authenticity claim does not match the evidence shown, or if anything else about the listing looks wrong. Reports are reviewed by our team, and the seller never learns who reported them.

If you have already bought and the shirt does not match the listing, do not confirm receipt. Open “Report a problem” from your order page within the windows shown there.
